We journeyed south today, from the Galilee to Jerusalem. We began our morning at the Jordan River before heading to the Spring of Harod where Gideon chose his 300 men in Judges 7. We were also at Mount Gilboa, the site of King Saul’s last battle and where he died and his three sons also. We then drove over to Bethshan (Bet She’An), where in I Samuel 31 the Philistines took the bodies of Saul and his sons and displayed them on the wall of this city. The valiant men of Jabeshgilead risked their lives to go on a night mission to take their bodies and bury them at Jabesh.
